The Royal Rangers Annual Camp was held on 21 – 23 August 2008 at the Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest in Hulu Langat, Selangor. The camp, themed “Reaction”, challenged us to respond to situations and events in a way that reflected God.
Associate Pastor David Seah sharing the devotion around the campfire on the first night (above). Lots of fun games and activities for the Rangers include camp craft, mountain biking and hiking (below).
On the first day, after being split into patrols and a brief orientation, we had activities that were based on teamwork. Working together as a patrol, we were able accomplish difficult tasks. During the Council of Fire that evening, we had Associate Pastor David Seah speak to us on the consequences of our “Reaction”. The evening ended with a scrumptious BBQ.
The next day the camp was buzzing with activities; the Discovery Rangers were busy learning camp craft, the Adventure Rangers were packing up their tents and belongings to go on their 10km backpacking trip to Sungai Perdik, and the Expedition Rangers were checking their bikes and gear before heading off on our mountain bike ride.
On the third day, we packed up the campsite and headed to the entrance of the park to await the return of the Adventure Rangers from their backpacking trip. Everyone thoroughly enjoy the camp and went home having learnt many lessons.
